Long Way Down
03:36
|
|||
Not satisfied with the lies you feed us
Please stand and pray for our pledge of allegiance
It's ancient history, the shadows on the wall, a Roman empire
With no rise or fucking fall
Keep breaking, keep waking us up
It's a long way down it's a long way down
Keep breaking, keep waking us up
It's a long way down, it's a long way down
How to make it to the afterlife
Good grades, good job, shitty life
Killing minds and bitter souls
It's just the way the good times roll
Keep breaking, keep waking us up
It's a long way down it's a long way down
Keep breaking, keep waking us up
It's a long way down, it's a long way down
Oh
Keep breaking, keep waking us up
It's a long way down, it's a long way down
Keep breaking, keep waking us up
It's a long way down, it's a long way down
It's a long way down

Rose's Complications
05:48
|
|||
Dawning, aging, breaking on your demand
Chasing, racing, boxcars hand in hand
I guess I have wondered where the flower's gone
I learned gardens can't grow without phenomenon
Missing misses meant to walk on water
She was mistaken, fell through, fell through
Missing misses meant to find all the answers
She was mistaken, fell through, fell through
Lillies, daisies, roses, need a friend
Dead in bedrooms, not if, just when
Closing caskets, baskets, tisket tasket
I fear losing all my friends to caskets
We make in vain, in pain dark formalities
Still life, fulfilled life, still life, fulfilled life
Missing misses meant to walk on water
She was mistaken, fell through, fell through
Nature can't complete itself
Rose can't live without our help
Nature can't complete itself (Walked through spring)
Rose can't live without our help (Fell through fall)
Doesn't happen all at once (Piece by piece)
It takes a lot to feed this love
Slide away the mystery (Without you)
Slide away you missed me (Without you)
Throw away the empties (Without you)
You missed your chance to help me

Wither
01:19
|
|||
(I'm introducing myself...)
Every time you leave, I'm afraid I'll forget your voice
Even if just for a second it could get lost amongst the noise
(Good evening, good evening...)
The hum of their bees and their hives, and our friends and their lies about what you truly believe
The shadows on our walls aren't shaped like our doubts for no reason
They shift and change to distract like the seasons
Even if just for a second to make me forget your voice
But the heat is not hot enough
The cold cannot stifle where I belong in the same why it stifles a beggar's song
(He papered all the chairs, he papered all the stairs...)
I grow not weary
I do not bend, nor do I break
So let the winter come
One step deeper I will take

Disfavor
02:16
|
|||
She has a February face
Lost in complexion, muscles tense
Accepts the world with dying grace
But got caught up in their mistakes
She bought a journal, nothing rhymed
She bought a basket to pass the time
She was a dreamer, looking for signs
Lost in translation, tried to die
The color faded from her life
Preferred the world in black and white
Preferred the world in black and white
Preferred the world in black and white

Packing Up
07:35
|
|||
Packed for a delivery
Where did I come from
Facing our mortality
My fingertips feel numb
It's colder where the light shines
Because we all know best
Show me where the dark is
Put my weary legs to the test, to the test
You're breathing on my shoulder
It's where the air belongs
With dreams of getting older
We calm our hearts to notes in fleeting songs, fleeting songs
If everything is falling, what does that make you
And what am I
If our names aren't carved into some tree in the woods will something or anything remember our name
If we don't stop looking for a sign to do anything in our lives we're going to get caught walking on the streets instead of reaching our destination
If you're getting screamed at in every direction except the one you'd like to go in all that's left to do is scream back and don't stop
(Packing up, packing up, packing up)
It never fails to amaze me how I'm not amazed by classical music and beautiful sculptures of mythical creatures
Everything I touch turns to dust just like Midas with all of the fame and none of the fortune
I hang posters on my wall just so I have something to look at as I fall asleep
I make friends in my life just so I have something to talk to when I wake up in the morning
I'm foolish for questioning what is known as the truth
But I'm sure I'm not the only one who's longed for something more
And if there's a devil on your back, at some point you're going to have to turn around and tell it, it was never welcome there in the first place
